Last SW Mighty Mugg Completes Me (for now!)

Filed under: In My Collection, Mighty Muggs — Tags: , , — Head Tragic @ 2:01 pm June 22, 2010

Scout TrooperIf there’s one thing you can count on, it’s that toy manufacturers will always make more things for you to buy. So for now, I’m celebrating a possibly short-lived achievement, but an achievement nonetheless! I just purchased the last Star Wars Mighty Mugg I needed to complete the Star Wars series of Muggs in my collection – and the winner is, “Biker Scout”.

I reckon he’s one of the best looking SW Muggs they produced, and I had to end up getting one from the States so I could rule a line under all the SW Muggs there are to collect (including exclusives!). I’m still missing a number of Marvel characters, Baroness from the GI Joe series, the 3rd wave of Transformers and a couple of the very early SDCC exclusives that are now very rare and very pricey!

Anyway, I’m happy with my complete set of SW Muggs for the time being, and will be saving my pennies again to start on the remaining few I need overall. Huzzah!

SDCC’09 Optimus Prime Exclusive

Filed under: In My Collection, Mighty Muggs — Tags: , , — Head Tragic @ 5:12 pm June 19, 2010

Yes, I’ve been adding a few new Muggs to the collection lately (with some pocket money I’ve recently earned!), and in searching for the remaining Mighty Muggs yet to fill my cabinet, I managed to grab the SDCC’09 Exclusive Optimus Prime Mighty Mugg.

There was a reasonable amount of disappointment with this exclusive, since he’s basically exactly the same design as the Optimus Mighty Mugg from the second wave of Transformers Muggs, but just with some metallic paint. I probably have to agree, and I think the original SDCC’07 (or ‘08) Iron Man or the recent Wolverine (with retractable claws) was a much cooler exclusive, but nonetheless this was an important one to add to the collection. Now I just need the Wave 3 Transformers Muggs and I have all of the Transformers series … and they’re hopefully coming soon.

New Mighty Muggs for me!

Recently I moved city from Brisbane to Sydney, and had to make the decision what parts of my toy collection to bring with me. As it turned out … I brought all of it apart from two 30″ Batman and Superman action figures, including about 4 packing cartons full of Mighty Muggs. Now that I’ve settled into the new digs, I’ve turned my attention towards growing the collection a little further. So today I happily purchased Ghost Rider, Hoth Luke, Storm Shadow, Iron Man MkVI and War Machine. Check them out on my Mighty Muggs page.

Keep MuggLab Online through the MuggLab Fundraiser

MuggLab.com was one of the first Mighty Muggs websites I found when I started getting serious about collecting Mighty Muggs. The site is chock full of great info on the various Mighty Mugg lines, as well as covering the world of customs Mighty Muggs.

Now, to help fund the continuing efforts of the website, Dr. Mugg is organizing a fundraiser sale on eBay of some excellent custom Muggs, created by some of the coolest Mugg artists going around. Check out the eBay listings here, and place a bid on something you like!

New Marvel Universe Mighty Muggs Confirmed at SDCC’09

Seems that Marvel Mighty Muggs had the run of Hasbro’s Mighty Muggs display at last weekend’s Comic-Con 2009 in San Diego. More specifically, a re-launching of the Marvel Universe waves (reportedly up to 3 new waves of figures), including some new characters such as Warhammer, Juggernaut, Deadpool and another Wolverine (that makes 4 versions now!). There are some great pics over on The Blot of these guys, and some shots on ToyArk.com also show the hooded version of Spiderman on display as well.

I’m so happy to know that more Mighty Muggs are planned. Even though some of the lines have been discontinued, the popular Star Wars and Marvel lines look like being in good shape for a bit longer at least.
